Smile

I was humming one of my favorite songs yesterday, when I actually paid very close attention to some of its lyrics. I hate it ever since! The song is

तुझ से नाराज़ नही ज़िन्दगी...

I know a lot of us love this song to bits. The reason I hate it now is this line...

मुस्कुराऊँ कभी, तो लगता है...
जैसे होठों पे, क़र्ज़ रखा है...

Rough translation:
Sometimes when I smile
It feels like a debt on my lips

This is simply impossible!

A smile can never be a debt! It is one of the purest forms of expressing joy, of bringing joy, and transforming hearts and minds!

Just smile, and you instantly feel better!
Smile at stranger and you have a new friend!
See a baby smiling and you forget all your own worries

There is nothing new in this post :)

Just wanted to share a smile!

And lots of wonderful quotes about smiles here!
Do click on the link, its wonderful!

Sharing a good smile..

and in the song he/she (both versions) are talking about the wry smile that one gets in defeat, being let down or simply helplessness in a situation...I guess.

i didnt get it... wont it make more sense if it said that the more we smile, the more we can pay off the debt or something..

@Vrij, :) back at ya!

@ceedy, yeah, i suppose it can be interpreted that way when we look at the context.

@harini, yeah, it would make more sense if that's what it said, but it doesn't. Which is why i did not like it.

I used to always think k it means that..

uske life mein itne bad times aa chuke hai k abhi woh jab smile karta hai toh he keeps thinking ke next moment he has to repay this smile with a price..so, he can't even smile freely..
[he also says that usne kabhi socha nahi tha ki usko muskuraane k karz utarne honge :D ]

and so woh zindagi se naraaz nahi, hairaan hai..

does that make ANY sense :-D I've lived with this interpretation since forever! This songs special, it was one of the 1st ones i ever performed :)

anyway, I loved the way u said,
"There is nothing new in this post"

:))))))))))
cute!!!!!
tc!

@express, yeah, it makes sense. And that is kind of what I understood from it too. My only issue with it is a smile is such a wonderful thing. Dil khol ke smile karo, why feel that if you smile bad times are right around the corner.
BTW, are you Samby's friend?
